General Description
Behavior in organizations is naturally interconnected with aspects of leadership. This lecture therefore aims at unifying these two concepts. The lecture covers organizational behavior on the individual level as well as on the group level. On the level of individuals, we focus on aspects such as personality, abilities, values and attitudes, emotions, motivation, and performance. The group level analysis addresses topics such as relationships and power. With regard to management behavior and leadership, we discuss issues related to strategic and intercultural leadership, leadership in teams, or leadership through periods of change. At every level, we take a strong theoretical perspective, comparing early theoretical approaches with contemporary concepts.
